5 out of 5 stars Strategicly fun   February 11, 2010

A friend had the main starter game and I got hooked on it. I decided to get the big box with the expansions to save money and space. The box comes with molded spots to hold all the cards. I haven't branched out to the expansions yet but I am looking forward to doing it soon.

4 out of 5 stars Fun game; box is too big   February 6, 2010

Carcassonne is a lot of fun. I'd describe it as a matching game on steroids. The rules are easy to follow. Each turn you place a piece and decide whether you are matching up with a road, a city, a field, or placing a cloister. (Though each piece doesn't have all of those options on it). Then you put a man on the piece (or you may be connecting to something you already have a man on). Until eventually you've finished a "feature", score your points, and retrieve your guy.

The rule booklet includes the rules for the game and each expansion. Also how each expansion effects other expansions and an estimated addition of playing time. The game is a bit addictive; you'll soon learn which expansions you enjoy and which your friends enjoy.

This "big box" is just that a very large box. So the box doesn't really fit with all the rest of the games and is about four sizes larger than needed for the all the pieces to fit. So my complaint about the product is that the box is too big and it doesn't come with a playing bag; which it really should given that you have to put the pieces into some sort of bag in order to play.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT GAME!   February 3, 2010

Talk about a game everyone can enjoy! Makes those long visits with the in-laws go fast! Easy to understand and with the expansions, there are almost limitless variations!

5 out of 5 stars Must have for gamers!   January 23, 2010

My husband and I love to play board games and cards, and if you do too, this is a must have game! We think of it as a mix between Risk and SimCity. It is a wonderful family game too b/c our 9 year old son can play with us using the basic tiles, but then adults that start to master the basic set can keep adding addition sets to lengthen and add difficulty to the game.

5 out of 5 stars Great game- good price. Thanks   December 30, 2009

Very fun game - one I would highly recommend. Just buy the bigbox now so youdont waste the money buying it later after you get addicted to the base game.
