Product Description Build a better mousetrap and you can catch your opponents mouse before yours is caught! As you travel around the board, collect pieces to create your trap, then put it together and start up the whole crazy chain reaction this is no ordinary mousetrap! For 2 to 4 players.
Editorial Review Build a better mousetrap? We dare you. Naturally, the object is to trap mice in the mousetrap, while avoiding getting trapped. By rolling the die, you proceed around the game board, collecting cheese pieces and building a mousetrap bit by bit. Once complete, you set the wheels in motion, as it were, to try to capture the opposition's mice. But this is no ordinary trap. With this contraption you start by turning the crank, that rotates the gears, that push the lever, that moves the shoe, that kicks the bucket, that sends the ball down the stairs and into the gutter, that leads to the rod that releases a second ball, that falls through the bathtub and onto the springboard, that catapults the diver into the washtub, that causes the cage to fall and--whew!--hopefully, capture a mouse. The last "mouse" left uncaptured wins --Alison Golder

Poorly made, pieces don't fit, game doesn't work. March 7, 2010 J. Cross My son really wanted to have this game and it looked really fun on the commercials... However, the pieces don't fit together correctly and the green boot doesn't come close to hitting the yellow bucket no matter how it's manipulated. So, then I manually tip the bucket and the ball doesn't hit the hand thingy hard enough to tip the second ball... Oh, I almost forgot to mention that a few pieces were missing when purchased and we had to order replacement parts (pay for them). If you've played this game, you'd understand. It's a complete waste of time and money.
mousetrap February 20, 2010 Barbara Batchelder (panhandle florida) my six year old son has autism.
for those not in the know about this condition, it often makes the connection between cause and effect difficult.
what better way to demonstrate this than a game like mousetrap!
a game that i loved when i was a kid and still do at fiftyfive years old.
tho the item i specifically ordered was used, every part was there and the board was in great shape. so i saved some money and still got a superior product.
and for my son, the game is hours of fun, whether actually playing it with someone else or merely endlessly resetting the cage to capture a mouse.
Really fun. January 30, 2010 Dawn Rintala (Tahoe, California) Mousetrap is exactly what we were looking for and expected. We have a 6 year old and a 4 year old. We wanted a game that was easy and fun to build together. The object of the game is to build the trap and then try to catch a mouse. I wanted the kids to have an idea first of what we were building, so we easily removed all of the pieces from their plastic frames and assembled the trap within 20 minutes. Our 4 year old can almost "prime" the trap herself, which is simply putting the balls and the helping hand in place. She has trouble balancing the basket, but we think she'll get it in the next day or so. We've left it set up on our kids table, and the kids have been playing together and catching mice at will. It is sturdy enough, and no less than we remember or expected.
Great Fun January 12, 2010 T. Smith (MTZ, IL United States) Our daughter just likes setting off the trap! Best played with 4 players...the game part has changed somewhat and the trap is better than it was years ago.
Fun Game!
Not worth the money or time January 10, 2010 Hifidesert (USA) This should be a great game, and is hindered by only one thing: the mouse trap contraption rarely works as it should. My daughters and I have set it and re-set it up several times in hopes we will get to see each device work properly, but several do not, especially the board held up by the hand.
I would not spend your money on this, but if you do, good luck getting it to work.
