1 out of 5 stars Wish I had my $20 back   July 18, 2010
Lile_C
What a waste of money and time. This new, revised "Game of Life" isn't the one I remember from childhood.

It took about an hour to assemble the board, and another hour to peruse the rules that were almost six pages long. SIX PAGES. Halfway through the game we were still trying to figure out this complicated mess of a "game." So NOT fun. We quit shortly after the halfway point.

Planning to donate it; going to try to find a vintage version. If it wasn't broken, why did they try to "fix" it?!?

1 out of 5 stars THIS IS AWEFUL!   July 2, 2010

Oh My Gosh the new version of life is AWEFUL it was my favorite game and then as time went on I lost the pieces so I had to buy this one/ its so annoying it was much more fun when you could be a doctor and make 40,000 or be an artist and make 100,00. also there aren't those little things like if the wheel spins off the computer consultant gets paid to "fix it" this one is so much worse!!!!! dont buy it or you'll be very disappointed i wish i had read the reviews BEFORE I bought it!

4 out of 5 stars life the game   May 21, 2010

Life is a great game and is very amusing. It is something that would be great for a family game night or just having guests over to have some fun. Although I don't advertise this game for small children because it may be confusing and the small pieces could be lost. But I think this game is a very amusing and I recommend this game very much.

5 out of 5 stars Not the same as the old one....   February 5, 2010
Kailee Erlandsen (Williston, ND USA)
My husband and I ordered this game for our son. We both enjoyed playing the game as children and thought our son would like it as well. We were a little surprised that it had changed some, but 20 years later, we really shouldn't have expected it to be the exact same.

We actually liked the changes. They took us a few rounds to get it down, but we had a blast. Our son is asking us to play the game a lot. He has even taken it to his grandparent's house to play with them!

We also got the game on sale and even with shipping, it was still cheaper than buying at our local Wal-Mart.

So yes, beware, the game has changed, but just because a few people don't like change, doesn't necessarily mean the changes are terrible.

The thing is, if you really want to play with the old rules (ie choose your career vs choosing blindly, spin for gifts vs using the LIFE tiles, etc.) than there is no reason you can't.

4 out of 5 stars Fun family game   January 18, 2010
Muktown Mom (Mukwonago, MI)
Having not had the original game of Life when I was a kid, I had nothing to compare it to. We got this for Christmas and I played it with my 11 yr old and 7 yr old sons. I thought it might be harder for my 7 yr old to follow at first..seemed a little grown up with all the careers, salary, etc. But he caught on and we had a fun game. He loved suing me...twice...
