My kids love it June 5, 2010 W. Odom I've read reviews that talk about problems with leaks, but mine was fine out of the box and has stood up to hours of play with multiple kids and adults pushing them around. I had to use a 3 minute timer to set turns for the kids as they don't want to get out. They push each other around and then hop right back in when it's their turn.
I've had it for a week and just like a balloon it could use a little more inflation now. It does take time as there are 20 separate valves, but I don't know how you would design it any better as this way if there ever is a leak it should be easy to find and repair (the box included 4 patches). The valves are well design - they seal even when left open so you don't lose air while getting the caps put back in place.
I threw away the ridiculous hand pump that came in the box without bothering to try it. The ball took about 20 minutes to inflate with an electric pump - I can believe the reviews that talk about hours to inflate by hand.
There's no doubt that this is an incredibly fun toy for children.
Thumbs up for giga ball even though there are problems. January 24, 2010 Happy Nana (SOUTHWEST) I bought this 2 years ago at Target for $35. for my grandsons (4-6). It has afforded them and their 12 yr. old sister many hilarious, squealing, laughing hours of tumbling fun. It is true that the clear sections developed leaks at the seams after 18 mos. of use, and eventually half of the sections developed leaks after 2 years of indoor use. They never tired of it and for $35. it was a wonderful toy. Many creative and imaginative plots were hatched using the giga ball. I am back for another but am disappointed to see that the price is so much higher and that the design flaws still exist. I do not believe it would last very long outside --however, (if you have the room) INSIDE it is still a wonderful toy for this age group.
holds up to rough play; tons of fun December 7, 2009 Alyssa Larson (iowa city) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
i almost wonder if the people who say this isn't worth a crap and pops immediately aren't using it on concrete. on grass, we played with it from may to november and it's held up great. we have 4 boys, ranging in weight from 35-55 lbs. they're not gentle. neither are their friends. this thing had kids in it all day every day,up to 3 at a time, even - because i'm all about the safety! - and the occasional adult or two (the only reason "giant inflatable hamster ball" doesn't have its own entry in the kama sutra is that vinyl hadn't been invented yet. i'm not sayin... i'm just sayin.) i was reasonably careful to leave it in the shade during the day, bring it in at night, and no leaks yet; it still looks new. i'll repair it til it can't take anymore, and then buy another one; i expect it to last at least another couple of years. with a foot pump - just any cheap-o plastic one, like the kind that comes free with an air mattress - it takes maybe 20 minutes to inflate all 20 or so pockets. nice design, really, so if you want to bring it indoors at night (like i usually did) you can partially deflate maybe a third of the chambers, squeeze the sucker through a standard doorway, and take 10 minutes to reinflate them the next day.

Not worth the price September 29, 2009 B. Kovalick (Penn State) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We gave in and bought the giga ball for our family reunion despite the bad reviews. We were no exception though, it didn't even last throughout the day before some of the chambers popped. The kids really liked it while it lasted, but I do not think it was worth $50. Take your money and go to an amusement park instead...lots more fun!
