Kids Love it! June 3, 2010 Aunt Toyce (Oregon) I found this game in a clearance bin at a local store. The kids love it.
They don't know that it is educational and better than flashcards, they just know that it is fun. SIMPLE to learn. The kids get it out and play of their own choice. With every roll of the dice, the kids have to add, subtract, multiply and divide if able. Then you put down the matching numbers, so rolling a 2 and a 3 on the dice gives you a 1 (3-2), a 5 (2+3), a 6 (2X3) and unfortunately this roll can't divide into whole numbers less than 10. So the 1,5,and 6 are placed down. Roll a double 6 and you clear your numbers and you start over again, roll a 5 & 6 and your opponent clears theirs and starts over again. Since I have 2 children, both play 2 sides of the board for more chances to win.
Wooden, and self contained except for the dice. Simple enough to make up your own rules.
My kids love it. I keep thinking there should be ways of adapting it for larger groups for elementary school classes.
Great Learning Game and Great Fun April 23, 2010 LD This game is easy to learn and fun for all ages. It's a great way for young kids to learn math, but so fun they don't even realize their playing an educational game.
countdown April 3, 2010 Katharine Robertson (Palmetto, GA) Purchased for my 11 yo grandson. He attends Mathnasium and it is one of the teaching tools. He likes playing the game.
CountDown! March 22, 2010 Lorains (Manahawkin, NJ) This is the second CountDown! that I have purchased for my daughter. She is a first grade teacher and her students fought over the first one I bought for her classroom. She asked for another. She said they absolutely love it. I can't think of a better endorsement than children loving to play a game and it being educational at the same time.
Interactive makes basic math great fun February 10, 2010 Grandma (Buffalo, New York USA) Absolutely an entertaining fun learning tool for basic math concepts. Game rules are simple, yet can be changed so any aged child could participate. Kids will love the visual aspect of this game, and the fun of competition.
